When does the new snooker season begin as O'Sullivan, Trump, Williams and Zhao Xintong resume major title chase?

The new snooker season is set to begin in Leicester next month, with qualifiers for the Wuhan Open being staged by the Mattioli Arena before Ali Carter defends his Championship League title at the same venue. There are 17 ranking events provisionally scheduled for next season, with the Players Championship set to take the total to 18, the same number as last season over a hectic 11-month period.

The new 2025/26 snooker season is set to get underway in Leicester next month, with the qualifiers for the Wuhan Open being held at Leicester's Mattioli Arena.
The opening round of the ranking event, won last season by Xiao Guodong, will take place between June 22-24 before the ranking event version of the Championship League is held at the same venue between June 30 and July 23.
The first invitational event of the new campaign is the Shanghai Masters, staged between July 28 and August 3, when new world champion Zhao Xintong is likely to appear for the first time in a competitive match before his home crowd in China.
The lucrative Saudi Arabia Masters will be held in Jeddah between August 8-16, boasting a £500,000 first prize, the same sum Zhao collected for lifting the world title with an 18-12 win over Mark Williams.
There are provisionally 17 ranking events pencilled in for the campaign, with three more non-ranking events after Shanghai, including the coveted Champion of Champions in Leicester (Nov 10-16) and the Masters in London (Jan 11-18).
The season again concludes in traditional fashion with the 50th World Championship of the modern era being held at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield (April 18 to May 4).
A date and venue has yet to be announced for the Players Championship involving the top 16 on the one-year list, which was hosted by Telford in March.
World No. 1 Judd Trump is defending three titles from last season in Shanghai, Saudi Arabia and the UK Championship, with No. 2 ranked Kryen Wilson claiming the Xi'an Grand Prix, Northern Ireland Open, German Masters and Players Championship.
Eight tour cards for next season are available from Q School in Leicester, which will be held between May 21 and June 1.
Four are also up for grabs at the Asia and Oceania Q School in Bangkok, which runs between May 13-24.
The winner of the Women's World Championship in China (May 20-27) will also earn a tour card for the new season.
