He's been suspended by the WPBSA

Court papers allege that the 2006 World Champ attacked the girl between 1993 and 1996 in the Glasgow area.

Prosecutors claim he did “instruct her to remove her lower clothing” it goes on to allege that he “exposed his penis before assaulting the child".

In a second charge against a boy it is claimed the Dott stripped naked and “entered” a shower as the youngster was bathing.

He is also alleged to have sexually assaulted the boy between 2006 and 2010.

Dott has today been suspended by the world governing body which rules him out of the World Championship next weekend.

He won the World Snooker title in 2006, having lost in the final two years previously.

That famous win saw him bank a £200,000 jackpot.

Dott and Ebdon played into the small hours, with their match officially ending at 12.52am the following morning - one of the latest World Championship final finishes ever.

He made two other finals in 2004 and 2010. The first of those saw him lose to Ronnie O'Sullivan.

A spokesperson for the snooker Word Governing Body said: “Graeme Dott has been suspended by the WPBSA due to a case which is scheduled to be heard before the High Court in Scotland.

“Whilst court proceedings are ongoing, it would be inappropriate for the WPBSA to make any further comment.”

The decision comes just days before the start of the World Championship.

The biggest event in the calendar will get underway at the Crucible on April 19 but Dott won't be involved.

It will be the first World Championship without Dott involved since 1994.

Graeme Dott's snooker career

First-ever match and tournament: Graeme Dott turned professional in 1994 and played his first match in the 1994 Benson & Hedges Championship, a non-ranking event. His breakthrough came in the 1995/96 season when he reached the last 16 of a ranking event for the first time at the International Open.

Total titles: Graeme Dott has won two ranking titles and a total of six professional titles during his career.

Ranking titles: 2006 World Snooker Championship and the 2007 China Open.

Other notable achievements: Dott was the runner-up in the World Championship in 2004 (losing to Ronnie O'Sullivan) and in 2010 (losing to Neil Robertson). He was also the runner-up in other events, such as the 2018 World Grand Prix.

Highest ranking: His career-high ranking was World No. 2, which he achieved during the 2007/08 season.

Current ranking: 56 (as of April 9, 2025)

Century breaks: 271 (as of April 9, 2025)

Prize money: £2,851,763 (as of April 9, 2025)

He was due to face the winner of the match between Wang Yuchen and Brian Cini in the second round before his suspension was confirmed this morning.

The winner of that tie will now receive a bye to round three.

Last year the Scottish ace hinted he's planning a shock career change - by swapping cues to join the lucrative eight-ball pool circuit.

After performing at a high-profile in China, he said: “I’m not taking it deadly serious at the moment, it’s a bit of fun, but if I got better at it then it’s something I could definitely do more in the future if I got better at it.

“It’s something I will probably look into but, for now, I’m getting decent appearance-free money, and I want to do well, the extra prize money is of course a bonus.

“But I want to perform and, the more I play in these events, the more I think I’ll start challenging more.

“I wouldn’t play if I can’t any good at it, for sure, I’m just too competitive for that.”
